AgriProAct Consortium

TTQ is a Cyprus-based SME with proven competences in IoT soil sensing, systems integration and data platforms for environmental applications, coupled with extensive management experience in EU-funded R&D. Its resources include a fully equipped prototyping lab for moisture/EC/temperature sensors, test fields for in-situ calibration and communications trials, and a production DevOps/data-engineering team that operates OGC/INSPIRE services and secure REST/OGC APIs. During the project TTQ coordinates WP1, leads the end-to-end integration of the data fabric and hybrid soil–weather stations in WP4, manages pilot deployment, uptime and field maintenance in WP5, and co-leads operational demonstrations, support and handover in WP6. As Host, TTQ also steers exploitation, IPR and sustainability (B2G/B2B2F models) in close alignment with competent authorities. The Project Coordinator is Marios Sophocleous, a senior engineer and programme lead with multi-year experience in in-situ soil sensing, data governance and multi-partner technical management; he is responsible for overall delivery, quality assurance and consortium liaison with MARDE and RIF.

The University of Cyprus (UCY), through the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (EFM-Lab) acts as the Scientific Coordinator, providing leadership in climate modelling, environmental data analysis, and pilot design for agricultural adaptation and resilience. UCY contributes advanced expertise in agro-meteorology, short-range hazard downscaling and verification, and climate-policy alignment, bringing extensive experience from EU-funded projects. The institution operates state-of-the-art high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure, a national meteorological and geospatial data network, and advanced environmental monitoring facilities that support integrated research at the interface of climate, air quality, and rural–urban environmental systems. Under the coordination of Dr. Petros Mouzourides, Senior Researcher and Project Coordinator at EFM-Lab, UCY will lead the scientific and technical implementation of AgriProAct, focusing on model development, data integration, and stakeholder-driven adaptation strategies. His expertise spans atmospheric physics, air-quality modelling, climate–health risk assessment, and environmental data analytics. Prof. Marina Neophytou, Head of EFM-Lab, will supervise and support the overall scientific coordination. UCY leads WP2 (Dissemination, Exploitation, Policy & IPR) and WP6 (Pilot Cycle 2, Demonstration & Impact Assessment). UCY contributes scientific leadership in climate and agro-meteorological modelling, data integration, policy alignment, and impact validation, ensuring that the project’s outputs are technically robust and strategically aligned with Cyprus’s national climate adaptation strategies, the EU Green Deal, and CAP objectives.

CYENS Centre of Excellence brings advanced competences in applied AI (ensembles, LSTMs, Bayesian NNs/GPs, GNNs), physics-guided ML, probabilistic calibration and conformal banding, together with explainability (e.g., SHAP) and operational MLOps. Its infrastructure comprises GPU/HPC clusters and secure model-documentation workflows (model cards, data sheets). CYENS leads WP4 AI development (parcel digital twins, short-range forecasting, uncertainty/interpretability, drift detection and guard-railed retraining) and co-leads WP6 on the farmer advisory experience and the Government Dashboard (reliability/fairness monitors, analytics and training materials).
